Give a compliment each day

I think everyone can agree that it is gratifying to receive a compliment from someone. It just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and it is usually the highlight of your day. If it gives you such a great feeling, why not pay it forward and make an assertive effort to do the same for someone else all the time? How often do you thank someone for specifically making your day better? How often do you let someone know that you admire them? How often do you take the time to tell someone what you really like or appreciate about them? Do you ever buy a cup of coffee or pastry for the public servant standing in line with you at the bagel shop? We typically make general assumptions that people know how we feel about them, but the fact is that they do not. Feelings often change and then actions always speak much louder than words. So, it’s good to always check the pulse and to give a random act of kindness to others. Everyone enjoys being acknowledged, because no one wants to feel that they are invisible and their efforts are not appreciated or that they do not matter. There is nothing better than a genuine compliment. And the giver of the compliment always feels just as good as the person receiving the compliment. So, it’s really a win-win situation. Take a couple of seconds to look someone in the eye and express your genuine thanks for what they do and share a smile. You will feel so much better and it will be the highlight of your day, as well as, theirs. PM
